Where Is Home?

Your body is like a home;

That is the first thing that comes to mind whenever I look at you.

Your body is like home;

Held together by an anger that never comes to an end

I only have to breathe before it comes gleaming to the surface like an over brushed silver

Your body is like a home;

It can be heard in the hardness of your voice when I fail to iron out a wrinkle in your shirt

It continues to echo round the house even when you're not there

Your body is like a home;

It can be felt by the tightness around my throat when you grip it to remind me I'm your property

Especially when you use it to punch out our fourth baby inside of me

Your body is like a home

A home of unending experience.

At least that is what my father said ages ago when he eventually closed my mother's eyes to his home

So, just like my mother I will stay

with this home…
