SISTERHOOD

Sister and friend- these two words are akin just like identical twins,

Paddling each other's canoe through life's tides and waves,

Sharing delights and sorrows too,

With a friend like you, I am content,

You are a listener to my remonstrations and my secrets, a conspirator.

Hand in hand- we flow like water,

Always in sync like flapping wings,

Creating the best memories like artists creating beautiful portraits,

Our belly is a roaring sea of laughter on our happiest of days,

A warm embrace would comfort us like a mother's hug on our somewhat gloomy days.

The Gayle to my Oprah, the Oprah to my Gayle,

This sisterhood feels like a fairytale,

Our bond is truer than reality and stronger than a rock,

One soul tied to two bodies,

With a secret language difficult for many to comprehend,

We will live and watch this love blossom into perfection.

Like the wind, we dance with effortless grace,

You are a whispered wish come true,

My orchid- flourish in the gardens of this vicious earth,

I pray that your warmth and charm grant you wings to soar higher,

To an altitude eagles wouldn't dare.
