Hey,
It seems the beauty of life brought us here to this very moment.
So, while you read this, I want you to open up your hearts.
Intro
It was all chaos: from the honking of cars on the street, the market women shouting lively invitations to people to buy from their stalls, the crazy traffic police who wasn’t exactly doing his job, our driver hollering at other motorists, his voice rising over the noise of the street, the lady beside me having a loud conversation over the phone, like an auntie giving unsolicited advice at a family gathering, the fumes, the stench of the gutters, putrid and foul, assailing my senses as if the very breath of Hades himself had seeped from the earth. It was a tempest of chaos, a whirlwind so fierce, it made a mockery of the peace one would expect on a Sunday morn.
overwhelmed by anxiety, I felt an intense need to retreat from this chaotic space to a beautiful ambiance with the serenity of vast plains, blanketed in the deep, rich blooms of chocolate cosmoses, where the grasses spat heavenly tunes and the oxygen was first-hand. That was all I could think of. However, reality was far too real. To escape such is to push up daisies.
A short text came in: “Hello love.”
A text so brief, yet so meaningful. I smiled as my heart experienced a joyful leap of ecstasy. My beautiful distraction had texted; her image flooded my mind. Oh, her brows, like restful, vibrant flora.
Oh, her eyes—the warmth of her beauty, so subtle and sweet, mellow and enchanting, like the soft glow of the evening sun as it kisses the horizon. Oh, her lips—if one could die of sweet poisoning, I’d rather it be upon her lips, like a moth to a flame, drawn irresistibly to their warmth. Her skin so soft, like freshly baked bread or oil in a clingy cellophane bag.
I was not exaggerating her beauty, for she was a fair maiden with a calm character and a sweet heart.
My smile widened and my belly fluttered. If I saw myself from the outside, I would assume I was a mad man. She brought peace and calmness; I could feel the venomous anxiety dissipating while I daydreamed of my love.
Oh, how in such a treacherous space, she saved me. She didn’t have to do an elephant’ s task or a Herculean challenge. She just texted at the right time, like a lifeline thrown to a sailor lost at sea.

As I opened my eyes, waking from the colorful imagination of my love, blurry images blurted in, like fleeting memories scrambling to find their place. I saw the world anew. Amidst the chaos, I saw the beauty: kids chasing each other in a play of it, a mother and her daughter under tutelage on how to be a perfect haggler, and a boy feeding stray dogs with buns. The fumes became stage smoke for some kids dancing to their own amusement, the market woman celebrated because she won a lottery.
Oh, the noise transformed into a passive feud, like two currents beneath still waters, quietly clashing, each one pulling at the other without ever breaking the surface.
Hey,
As we stand in this fleeting moment, let us embrace the love that surrounds us. May our hearts remain open, and our spirits ever curious, for life’s greatest treasures often lie in the simplest of things.
