Poetry: Be Mine

For you, I shed the mask of strong girl,

When I found peace in your embracing form,

A sense of calm that soothes my soul.

If being with you, would bring out the kid in me,

Then gladly, I'll curl up, ancestral instincts,

And lay my weary head on the comfort of your thigh,

A haven where my heart finds serenity.

Come, love, let's go back to the days of our forefathers,

Where love is shy and true,

Under the Orogbo's tree,

With an ancient musical flute advocating our love.

Eleyin ju ege, for you, I would go back to the old centuries where post office would be our play ground,

With anticipation and smile, you would receive letters.

Written with my heart's blood to convey my heart desires towards you,

A letter worthy of museum's honor,

I would weave words for centuries to testify.
