Jordan

He remembers that day clearly. It was just after the Faculty of Science Semester Opening ceremony. He'd had a little too much to drink but not enough to make him lose his senses. When he got back to the house, it was unusually quiet. Normally the guys would be throwing a party on a day like this. But no. It seemed like every other society was throwing a rager except his. Slightly disappointed that he wouldn't blackout tonight, Jordan walked into the house and heard muffled voices coming from the dinning room.

Everything was there. Large crates filled with bottles of beer, wines and gin. Bowls of snacks and even the dj was still there with his equipment. As soon as he walked in to the dining room, all eyes turned to him and the room fell silent. "What, no party tonight?" he said grabbing a chair and sitting closer to the group. His best friend OB, had his head down on the table with his hands clenched tightly on his lap. The other guys were clenching their jaws. Prince paced around the room restlessly. Okay something was off, Jordan thought.

Prince waved his hand to Jordan dismissing his thoughts. "No, we're starting a bit later than usual." He grabbed a chair and sit directly next to Jordan. "We have a problem," he said looking Jordan in the eye. "Look at OB," he said pointing at OB, who seemed out of sorts, "Kira just broke up with him."

Jordan raised his eyebrows in shock. He turned to his best friend, "OB, i thought everything was good between you guys. What happened?" OB raised his head and finally Jordan could see why he had been hiding. He looked like a broken man. His normally glistening skin was now pale and his eyes looked blank. Like a man that had everything he'd ever had ripped away from him.

"It was," he said slowly, "until this morning when she ended things." Lame passed him a drink. Whiskey. OB never had anything that strong.

"Did she tell you why?" Jordan inquired.

"She found out about Amanda,"

Fuck. Prince slammed his fist on the table. "She didn't find out," he took a sip of his own glass of whiskey, "someone told him."

Jordan leaned back for a moment. It wasn't abnormal for someone to know about Amanda and let the information slip to Kira. It's not like they were trying hard to bury what happened. "Perhaps someone from our old high school let it slip by accident?"

Prince stood up in fury. He started pacing again. "See that's what we thought too but its much worse than that. It was intentional." Jordan was taken aback by this information. Why would anyone want to sabotage OB's relationship? As far as he knew, any enemies he might have had were all left behind in their hometown.

"Jordan," Prince called, "it looks like someone out there is intentionally sabotaging us. We looked into it and there's a pattern. There's a reason all our relationships and talking stages are failing."

Jordan drew in a large breathe. If someone is intentionally trying to sabotage the image and peace of their brotherhood and everything he has been building for the past two years, then he had to stop them somehow.

He leaned forward and placed his hands on the table, "tell me everything."
