I had always been skeptical about “love at first sight” untill that fateful day, May 22nd, 2024. I was running late for work and a crucial presentation, and the heavy rain wasn't helping. With no choice but to brave the downpour, I dashed out getting soaked in the process.

The deserted road and lack of buses added to my frustration. As I waited at the bus stop, catching my breath and praying for a miracle, a black Toyota Camry drove by. To my surprise, it reversed and stopped in front of me. The tinted windows hid the driver's identity untill they wound down, revealing a stunning woman with mesmerizing brunette locks, piercing blue eyes, and a radiant smile. Time stood still as she greeted me, and I stuttered a response.

She introduced herself as Katherine and offered me a lift, which I gladly accepted. On our way, I learned more about her and her family. A doctor by profession, she came from a well-to-do family; her parents were both lecturers at a prestigious university. She was the youngest of four siblings and the only one yet to be married. I imagined how thrilled my mother would be if I were to bring her home.

When Katherine dropped me off at work, we exchanged numbers and promised to meet up soon. Luckily, I was able to give my presentation and I even landed a promotion. While my colleagues wanted to celebrate with me, my mind was preoccupied with the lovely lady I had met earlier. I couldn't wait to get home and call her.

It seemed I had found my own love at first sight.
