It was a cold night and the sound of jingle bells rang loud and clear in the air. The streets were lit and alive. Each street echoed the laud of Hosanna. People cheered and laughed because it was that time of the year.

The church was filled with people who wore smiles and dressed in the finest linens. With merry hearts, they raised their voices in hymns and praise. It was Christmas Eve so they had gathered to celebrate until the clock struck midnight.

Amongst them laid a prey, one hunted by a psychotic killer called The Savior. The killer watched his unsuspecting prey sing on high octave, all similes and radiant. She looked innocent; a soul who could do no harm but the killer knew better. His prey was the devil; an evil breed that needed to be exterminated. Regina was a petite woman, dedicated to God, and was considered a good woman as she was always involved in one charity or another.

She piqued his interest two weeks ago when he heard her confession. She had been vague, trying not to spill much but the little she had said struck something in him. The little voice told him she was another devil to be sent back to hell so he listened. The voice was never wrong: God was never wrong.

He stalked her from that night, followed her everywhere she went, and he found her without blemish. He was beginning to think he had misheard the voice when it happened. That night, he watched her as usual. She was home, alone, and did nothing out of the usual. Her husband wasn't home, he hadn't been home for months. Rumor had it that he had run away with a much younger woman leaving his 13-year-old son with Regina.

She was a beautiful woman with a great body so he couldn't understand why her husband abandoned her. He watched on as she went about her business; cooking, cleaning, and having dinner with her stepson. Something felt wrong but he couldn't place it. He had been watching her for a week now and she had always been dinner alone. The boy being there was not a problem, the scene before him looked normal; a small family eating at the table, but there was more to it.

The boy seemed apprehensive, jumping at her every movement. At first, he thought nothing of it until he watched closely and noticed the boy trying to hold back his tears. The savior paid attention to the child and everything was revealed. The next night was different, he could see Regina dolling herself up through the monitor. She was dressed in a transparent nightgown that left nothing to the imagination.

On the bed laid several toys and whips, he needn't think too much before every puzzle piece clicked into place. She called the boy into the room and like a lamb to the slaughter, he came running: naked. The voice was right, Regina was a sinner and it was time to purge her of her sins.

He watched her for a few more days to set everything up and now, it was time. After the service was concluded, he walked up to her and engaged her in a friendly chat.

"Can I ride with you today?" He asked

He was a friendly face so she didn't think much of it. Halfway through their journey, her car gave an exhausted sign before shutting down. As she alighted to check what was wrong, he followed behind her and knocked her unconscious.

Regina blinked her eyes open, she couldn't make sense of anything and felt drowsy. Her head was heavy and the bright light shining on her face made it difficult for her to keep her eyes open. She tried to move and it dawned on her that her situation was a scary one. Her hands were tied to a chair and so were her legs, with a series of wires wrapped around her and it was connected to a live source.

Her heart accelerated, going into overdrive as she screamed for help but heard nothing but the echoes of her voice screaming back.

"Confess your sins," the voice said, startling Regina. She screamed a hello in response which earned her a shock.

"Confess your sins!" The voice screamed

Confusion laced her memory and for the life of her, she couldn't understand what her tormentor wanted from her. Regina broke down into a series of whimpering and hiccups, begging for her tormentor to spare her life but all these earned her nothing but a sequence of electrocution.

Her body went numb and she went quiet. A splash of cold water woke her up, she had convinced herself it was all a dream but waking up in the same situation made her realize it was all read.

The humming of electricity reignited her fear and she began to plead for her life.

"Confess your sins!" the voice repeated

A whip was flashed in front of her and realization dawned on her. The sin she was to confess was grave, one she was supposed to take to her grave but to save her life, she spilled everything. She confessed, she told her tormentor how she had been abusing her 13-year-old stepson to satisfy her desires for months.

The Savior breathed in satisfaction and with outstretched hands, he chanted his prayer

"Oh Lord

Before you stand a sinner

Naked and without sins

Purge her of evil

Take away her sins

And wash her heart with your blood

Accept her in paradise

May her soul forever dwell at your side

Amen"

He looked at Regina and whispered

"God forgives you"

Those words were the last words she heard before the humming of electricity saturated the air.

The Savior watched on as she convulsed and dropped dead. He was satisfied, one more soul was saved and his work was just getting started.
