Who tells my story?

Who has dared to write on a blank canvas with the red ink of my blood?

Who has dared to go through the journey of the dark road not taken?

Nobody!

Nobody can tell it,

For how can they tell a story which they know nothing of,

A story of abandoned dreams and lost memories,

Of deep sorrow and bitter nostalgia,

Of heartbreak and broken promises?

No!

Nobody dares to write of such a story,

For their sanity would have been the price to pay,

Only I can write such a story,

For I am the only one to have survived thus far,

Whether I have payed with my sanity is still yet unclear,

If you’ve read thus far then I see you’re brave enough to digest such tales,

But remember the line between bravery and stupidity is a blurred one,

But alas! You’ve come thus far so I must tell you the tale,

And take you in the journey that has only been taken by one girl,

A scared, naive little girl who never knew what to expect in this journey,

All she wanted was to live a good and happy life,

But destiny had other plans for her,

First she was ripped off of a place she could call home,

Taken from one place to the other for her parents didn’t have the time to play house,

Then finally she moved in with her father,

Whom took her from her mother,

And that’s when she started to live a lonely existence,

This little girl that was always surrounded by people and was used to a lively atmosphere,

Was suddenly taken to a place where she had non,

Her father could only do so much,

Her stepmother never cared about her existence to begin with,

Every night for the first year she would sleep on her heavily tear soaked pillow,

The pillow her only confidant at such a lonely time,

Yet she survived…

Then she was taken to another stepmother,

A mother of two,

It certainly wasn’t lonely on the outside cause she finally had people around her,

But it was most definitely lonely on the inside,

For they never failed to tell her how she didn’t belong,

Though she tried so desperately to do so,

But the stepmother had other plans as she made sure to drill it in our little girl of how small she is,

And made it her mission to crush her ever shrinking self esteem,

And she succeeded,

Some might say a little too well,

For to this day our little girl still has non,

But it wasn’t enough to crush her self esteem,

Oh no! That was only the icing on the cake,

She needed to do more,

Destroy this little girl as much as she could without leaving a trace that would lead back to her,

And that’s when the mental games began,

Isolating her from the people that cared about her,

Antagonizing her to anyone that would listen,

Publicly humiliating her in front of family and friends,

Making her feel inferior to her own wonderful two children,

Only to name a few,

Yet she survived…

Then that stepmother was gone but she left her two wonderful children whom the little girl had to take care of in an empty house,

Even though the little girl needed taking care of and guidance herself,

She still became the woman of the house,

But that’s when she got introduced to her new friend called Depression,

Her new friend let her know that he was here to stay whether she liked it or not,

Though she tried to fight this battle as hard as she could,

And oh dear reader, I tell you, she put up a hard fight,

But there was only so much this little girl could do,

Fighting an enemy that was much bigger and stronger than she was,

Alas! As she finally lost the war, he conquered her,

Time passed and she even accepted him,

For he was the only comfort she knew,

So what if he told her to cut herself,

At least it helped from the mental pain,

So what if he further isolated her from the world,

At least she knew no one would understand her but him,

So what if he tried to get her to kill herself,

At least he was only saving her from the pain of this world,

Her now old friend tried to kill her multiple times,

Yet she survived…

Then she had a new stepmother,

But at this point she was scarred by too many of them to trust her,

But this one was different,

She actually…liked her!!!

You can only imagine the little girl’s shock,

So there was a stepmother who didn’t feel threatened just because she was her father’s first child and didn’t completely hate her?

She could finally let her guard down?

She didn’t have to be told twice as she happily did just that,

Unbeknownst to her that an unexpected danger was lurking just round the corner,

In the form of the person she least expected,

Her uncle! Whom had vowed to make her life as miserable as he could,

To this day if you ask this little girl why her uncle hates her so much she could not tell you,

For she could only tell you things she knows the answers to,

And this Uncle of hers, oh tried he did to make her as miserable as he possibly could,

Hiding behind the facade of wanting the best for her,

So her father never suspected,

So she couldn’t tell anyone,

Especially not her father because he strictly believed that his darling brother could do no wrong,

So she endured all he threw at her,

Even though she tried to convince herself that she was tough enough to take it,

But deep down she was too soft, too too soft to take it,

That’s right!

If there’s one thing we can learn about our little girl,

Is that despite everything Destiny had thrown her way,

And despite her trying to act tough,

She still remained too soft that a marshmallow would seem like a rock sitting next to her,

Yet she survived…

Then she went back to her mother,

If you would ask her what the happiest day of her life was,

To this day she would say when she went back to her mother,

Though there were a few obstacles on the way,

Like her wicked stepfather who made her mother miserable,

She still didn’t let it deter her,

The stepfather worked far away anyway, she would always say,

And he really wasn’t as bad as he used to be, she would say again,

She had her mother and her little brother whom she loved dearly,

These two she loved more than anyone in the world,

These two she would never hesitate to lay down her life for and she meant it,

These two were her happiness,

So she lived with them happily,

She has started to cure her depression,

Started a new school,

Everything wasn’t perfect of course but it was good,

And for the first time in ten years she had finally started to see a glimpse of a light at the end of this dark, dark and seemingly endless tunnel,

But of course destiny could never let her have it good for too long,

So it a night where she could still swear was a windy night,

With thunder and lightening kissing the skies,

The cold cold hands of death took her mother away,

She thought everything had changed ten years ago when her father took her away,

Little did she know that that was nothing compared to what the Grim Reaper had in store for her,

It was sudden,

It was unexpected,

But it had happened,

Despite her trying to convince herself for months that it didn’t,

That her mother would come back and she only went to one of her many travels,

But time would say otherwise,

And just as she thought it couldn’t get any worse,

Her stepfather took her little brother away from her,

Now she lost the two people she had loved most in this world,

That light at the end of the tunnel was suddenly squashed and she was left with nothing,

But she can’t complain because at least she gets to live in her Aunt’s house,

Though she’s been used to isolation for most of her life she embraced the crowded house,

For the noise and the laughter made her forget even if it’s just for a little while,

She tried to at least hang on to her father,

But he was too distant,

Both physically and emotionally,

So she just gave up,

Has she survived?

We don’t know yet if she ever will,

For the story is still ongoing,

And her old friend Depression has noticed the state she is currently in and has decided to make a comeback,

But despite how tempting it is she’s still trying to fight back,

What she’s trying to fight though she is unsure of cause the battles are many,

Trying to fight her stepfather for her brother,

Trying to fight her Uncle who still hasn’t given up on trying to make her life miserable,

Trying to fight her failing grades,

Trying to fight the depression that just wants her to end it all,

Trying to stay afloat,

Trying not to sink,

Trying…

Trying…

Trying…

Sigh!

Dear reader,

It’s exhausting isn’t it?

Funny cause this is just a summary of the story,

Silly you thinking we can get into all of it,

There’s simply too much,

We can’t get into the series of sexual assaults,

Or the three attempted suicides,

Or the mental breakdowns,

Or the betrayal of people closest to her,

So you would just have to make do with these,

And when you’re asked,

Tell them that the unwritten story is now finally written!
