Abandoned by my family in a cold northern state, I expected a lot of Unique bonding but not the kind I had with mama Abdul, Wife of a military official in prison.

Her husband shot and killed three other military officials after a night of drinking. The week before ,his third application for a pass to see his wife got rejected and it took a massive and final toll on him.

This happened in Maiduguri three years ago. Came as a real shock to everyone who knew him, especially to her and she refuses to believe the reports.

Pity is shown to her easily but she harbors so much resentment for her situation and everyone around her.

forced to stay in a cramped up room in the military barracks with two children she occasionally neglects. She's passionate only about him, swears he's blameless and it is all just a huge plot to bring him down.

They won't let her see him or talk to him, which cleary means there's more to the story and they know she can't handle it.

To distract her, they let her walk freely around as compensation for the other things she can no longer have.

sometimes I forget he's not coming back ,the way she talks about having more children every time she sees kids.

Mama Abdul has been waiting for a miracle for years now and it's really taken a toll on her.

Breaks me to see her crying every time she fights with neighbors, and she fights a lot.

She doesn't fear repercussions, maybe she hopes to end up somewhere similar to where he is,A way to continue bonding.

Sometimes she admits even if he runs naked on the street (complete madness) she has to still take him back.He is more than her love, he is her only security, she has nothing in her name.

Every thing was wrong from the start, to leave her home, become a wife too early on, all the life she hasn't experienced. Now to exist as a free citizen,She has to find a new identify, raise her family on her own and eventually move on.

Easier said than done.
