“This kind of thing only happens in movies,” Said David when his sister, Diana told him about how she fell deeply in love with her kidnapper.

He imagined that this was an episode out of a soap opera showing on Telemundo, but with all seriousness, Diana had said that the man’s eyes were the most beautiful thing she had seen all her life; This was coming from a girl who had travelled around the world and seen beautiful places; she had seen the pink beach, the beautiful autumn season of Switzerland, she had met Robert Downey Jnr in person. But the eyes of a tall, dark, diabolical, and dangerous local 28-year-old man were beautiful?

Diana knew that her father, Minister Robert Ogun was a horrible man; the title of Minister of Defense meant nothing but a way to embezzle funds. Now, it was five years after his tenure in office, but Robert knew one way or the other, the public would finally fight back against his mishandling of the country’s defense. He didn’t think that his 21-year-old daughter would be a target.

Diana had gone out for a walk around the estate to meet with her secret boyfriend when she was drugged and thrown at the back of a van.

She woke up with a splitting headache and was chained to a chair- not tied, chained like a deranged animal. She immediately knew that these people wanted money from her family.

To her surprise, out of the three men was Jibola, a young man she had met during her solo date at the movies- her boyfriend.

After the movie, Jibola approached her and started a conversation, based on action movies. They spoke that night for hours. When Diana got home, she knew she had developed a little girl’s crush on Jibola. Then the double texting started, the hours of talking on the phone, he had planned a date for her at the beach, and then they shared their first kiss.

Diana was ready to stay back in Lagos, just so that she could be with him. Her brother had called her,” A mumu.”

She didn’t care; she just wanted to be with Jibola.

To her surprise, she met Jibola among her kidnappers, but he had the name “Razaq”. She didn’t need to do the whole theatrics to ask why he had done this. She felt like a fool. Jibola explained that Robert Ogun had ties with the terrorist group in Kaduna and he knew of the attacks that plagued their village for years.

Diana knew her father was wicked but wicked enough to let a bunch of armed men bomb an entire village. It wasn’t fair. Jibola and the other 3 kidnappers’ families were brutally killed.

When he and his accomplices discovered that Daddy’s little princess was coming home, they decided to fight back.

Of course, fellow mumu Jibola also had feelings for Diana, but his feelings for vengeance were stronger. He and the other kidnappers asked for ransom money of 15 million from Robert. Even though they asked not to involve the police, Robert Ogun called a favor from his friend in the police force. His little problem got Diana in trouble.

Jibola had no idea that his fellow kidnappers were going to beat Diana into a pulp and sexually harass her until he got back to their hiding place and saw a bruised and crying Diana. His blood boiled; He knew Diana was not to pay for her father’s mistakes, but she had to be involved in their wicked scheme of revenge.

Robert learned his lesson after a terrible video of hoodlums taking advantage of his daughter was sent to him. He and his uppity wife pulled out 15 million and sent it off to the kidnappers’ preferred location.

Jibola was waiting with Diana until the signal was given and the other kidnappers had gotten the money. During that time, he tried to apologize, to let her know that this was the only way to pay Robert back.

Betrayed and exhausted, Diana didn’t say a word to him. He removed the chains on her and told her that she could run to her family and tell the police everything she knew about him. He didn’t care; he probably had plans to leave the country or change his appearance.

Diana stared at him, not knowing whether to hit him across the face or comfort him for losing his entire family. He left her, but told her that many more powerful men’s children would go through what she has; she had been the one to start the movement Jibola and his boys had planned for the politicians who didn’t want to do their jobs.

When Diana was back in the comfort of her home, Robert summoned the best investigators to find the perpetrators of the crime. But to do that, Diana would have to say all she knew.

She thought about Jibola and how he had so much taken from him; If she sent the police down his trail, he wouldn’t be in prison, he would be dead.

Yosola, the head of the investigating team asked,” Do you remember anything about the kidnappers? Their names? Any clues that you can help us with?”

Diana looked at the determined face of the man and was sure that her father had offered him a fortune if he found the man.

She thought about the moments that she had shared with Jibola, even if it was all farce for him, it meant the world to her.

She knew she would regret it, but either way, she said,” Nothing,” She stood on her word.

Eight weeks later, she learned that the daughter of the minister of Aviation was kidnapped, and she immediately knew that Jibola had kicked off his plan. The good aspect of his plan was to finally teach the leaders a lesson, but the bad part is many girls would be in the “fooled-by-Jibola-group”
