LOVING YOU

My best, best, best friend

Look around, love

It is only you and I in this bubble

Making merry and dancing in circles.

In the beginning, it felt unwise.

Our maiden meeting was like mixing water and fire in a bowl.

But who would have thought?

I recall our first contretemps being intense

So much that it lingered for a few days.

You, ignoring my existence

Me, calling non-stop, unashamedly.

"We still gang, Jazz. "

Was what you finally wrote me on a Monday.

As crazy as I thought that was,

Those four words were the most beautiful thing I ever read.

There and then

I put my buttocks to the ground

And taught me how to love you

Like I were in a classroom.

I made a choice to be yours,

The day before,

In that moment,

As well as in every lifetime.

I have always described you as my North star,

The celestial beacon in my life, guiding me to bliss.

How lucky I am

To be on this planet at the same time as you.

Loving you is easy

Loving you is like a gentle rain,

Nourishing my heart and bringing new life.

You are good for me and with me.

And I am honored that you desire me enough

To share in your life.
