WRITERS' BLOCK

I pick up my pen

I search the ceiling

I chew the pen

What should I be writing?

If you are a writer

You know this is called the block;

Not ice block,

Not any other block

But writer's block!

What should I write?

I asked the emptiness.

Write, write, write.

Says my muse.

What should I write?

Write about "writer's block."

So I started writing about writer's block.

When you are stuck

It doesn't mean you are block

I began writing.

Writer's block is an illusion,

Nothing is block

You only chose to remain blocked.

Writer's blocks

Exist with writers

Who finds no satisfaction

In their work.

They think we must attain perfection

Before they put words on paper.

They find no satisfaction

to that beautiful piece

And so discard this

Would-be masterpiece

Seeking to write a perfect piece.

What is the solution

Write, this is the first action.

Later, return for polishing

And give your work a final finishing.

But do make sure you write,

Write, write, write

Until your work comes alive.
