Q - Shinomayana vs Grace, give us an insight into your alter ego.

A - It’s like beyonce and Sasha fierce. Grace is the cute, calm, loving girl that everyone wants to meet, and Shinomayana is the Instagram baddie, the confident girl, the Sauce.

Q - What made you get into content creating?

A - Because I was destined for it. All my life, I’ve always wanted to be in front of the camera; but a lot happened, I was battling with insecurities and all, but my friends pushed me, Darkiae pushed me and I started posting, and now look where we are today.

Q - I think you stand out well as a content creator in this town, you are on almost all podcasts that have come out here, your photos are the talk of the town, how as it been for you?

A- It has been a bit overwhelming, to be fair. I mean, everyone feels like they are ready for fame and success until its actually in your face and you’re like “oh my God, what am I going to do with this?” But I have God, He always keeps me grounded. I’ve always known that I was destined for greatness so I think the knowledge has prepared me for that, and I also have a great support system so it helps me navigate and do what I can.

Q - What inspires you to make content?

A- ME. ME. Every time I look in the mirror I get inspired. I AM content. I also think my brain is very creative, because I could look at anything and my brain would be thinking of what I could create with it. So yeah, it’s all me...and The Holy Spirit.

Q- How Has God and your faith affected the way you make content?

A- I always say that Christianity is a lifestyle and an identity, so it’s like how where you’re from can affect your content. I am a Christian just like I am Nigerian and I think it has helped me stand out; because people come to my page and they an impression of me and then when they hear me talk about Jesus, they get visibly shocked and its always funny to see.

Q- We all know that Calabar isn’t the best place to have a life as a content creator, what keeps you motivated to keep striving here?

A- Well, it’s really hard but I think it’s better to blow up from here because it isn’t highly saturated. There isn’t so much competition here that all you have to do is be good at your craft and people will find you. It’s not easy by any means, but it is a lot easier to blow in Calabar than in somewhere like Lagos or Abuja

Q - Have you ever wanted to give up?

A- Yes. Yes, I have. I was depressed for the longest time. I had given up on everything: life, myself; I was just thinking “can the next truck just hit me” it was that bad, but I think that’s why name is very important. I have the Grace of God to carry on, its always there to carry me so there’s nothing like giving up here, just to cry and keep it moving.

Q - What’s next for Shino?

A- A whole world of possibilities. Anything can happen so expect big things: more podcasts, more vlogs, maybe a YouTube channel. Anything can happen so stay tuned to Shinomayana.
