Ana hosted the gang’s first sleepover since her brother, Alex, drowned himself. Ana was the unsaid leader of the gang, Sam, the responsible one, Faye was the free spirit and Meredith, the wallflower. After having a lot to drink, Meredith suggested they played Spill, a game Ana invented that involved saying something they did since the last sleepover that nobody knew about.

‘I’ll go f-first’ Faye said while pretending to drive.

‘I think we should put Faye to bed’, Sam suggested as she saw that Faye seemed really drunk.

‘I prayed’, Faye said. Ana laughed, ‘But you don’t believe in God’.

‘What did you pray about, faux atheist’ Meredith asked. ‘F-for forgiveness’, Faye answered. ‘I really think Faye should sleep now’, Sam said as she started to help Faye up.

Ana looked at her surprised, ‘must be a big sin’. Faye smiled and slurred, ‘I wished him dead. Maybe I hypnotized her and my words made her push him’.

Meredith looked at Sam who was trying hard not to look nervous. Ana looked more confused than before, ‘I don’t understand’. ‘Oopsies, I forgot you don’t know that Sam killed Al..-‘ Faye was cut short as Sam slapped her across the mouth.

Sam sat Faye on the Sofa and turned to face Ana in tears, ‘I’m sorry! It was an accident. I was angry, I pushed him off the bridge. I don’t even know how I had the strength. He raped Faye, she couldn’t tell you so only the three of us knew, I went to confront him and it just happened, I’m sorry!’, Sam confessed while Meredith just watched.

Ana, agitated, started to suffocate Sam, and Faye tried to separate them. Ana, with so much force from the back of her hand, sent Faye to the edge of the wall where she hit her head and started to bleed. A broken neck and bleeding head, Faye died. Ana started to cry by Faye’s body, ‘I don’t even know how I got the strength to do that, please wake up Faye’.

Meredith, who hadn’t moved an inch, said, ‘It just happened. You were angry, it was an accident, just like Sam’s’.
