I Want To Remember The Sound Of Hope

In such a world as this, the sky knows my name

She heard me throw a wish in the well

And has asked the moon to peek in on me

Everytime a star falls

I clutch my unwound heart and like a spool, smile it all intact

I am a dyad with the stars; hollow little things that glow

Not the sky, because she cries

Unabashed and avenging

My lips lock around my fist on days I rain

Because I want to remember the sound of the coin as it fell

The sound before it hit the bottom of the well and I shattered

Into a million tiny stars
