I still smell of him

"You still smell of him, go wash again," Akin growled, his eyes blazing with anger.

I had already taken a shower after returning from my outing with Karim, but apparently for Akin it wasn't enough to get rid of his scent.

Never before had I seen him so incensed, as he shouted and threw objects across the room, even targeting me in his wrath. All because I had simply gone to watch a movie with Karim, but it was clear that Akin suspected the deeper feelings that lay between us.

To him, Karim was merely a best friend, but to me, he offered a sanctuary from the tumultuous relationship I shared with Akin.

In the face of Akin's barrage of insults and physical violence, all I could do was utter in defeat,

"I still smell like him. I'll go wash again."
